CHAPTER 31: Let the game begin

(Day after OmRu tell Priyanka about Tia-Dushyant)

Abir: Are you sure, is it really Tia and Dushyant?

Abir had asked the same question for the tenth time in the past one hour and Priyanka was highly irritated giving him the same answer…. Ranveer and Mishti were quiet after Priyanka had revealed the truth about Tia and Dushyant being married and were lost in their own thoughts…. Abir who was more than shocked ended up asking Priyanka the same question again and again….

Priyanka: How many times are you going to ask the same thing, I have already told you everything?

Abir became quiet hearing Priyanka’s irritated and slightly high voice…. Ranveer and Mishti looked at the duo and shook their head at Abir…. Ranveer and Mishti were used to Abir’s habit of asking the same question multiple times till his mind and heart didn’t get satisfied but Priyanka being new was bound to get irritated….

Mishti remembered the time when she had confessed her love for Abir years ago…. She was so damn nervous and had gathered her courage with utmost difficulty…. She without taking a chance to breathe and had spoken about her feelings to Abir all in one go…. Abir who was initially shocked by her sudden confession had only ended up asking her if she really loved him so many times that Mishti had reached her limits of patience and walked away…. Abir felt like an idiot when he realized what he had done and had spent the next two days persuading his lady love…. A smile adorned Mishti’s lips as she remembered the best days of her life and let out a chuckle…. She realized that the other three were looking at her confused as to why was she smiling…. She mentally slapped herself….

Priyanka: Now, what has happened to you, why are you smiling?

Mishti: Nothing, just remembered something. Anyways, we need to think about Tia and the case, so you think that Dushyant may have any connection to the case?

Mishti quickly put a stop to all the attention that she had received and diverted the mind of others to the case…. Little did she know that one person could easily see through her trick…. This was her old habit whenever she was asked something she couldn’t give answers to, she diverted the topic…. Abir could easily understand her smile when he realized what she must have been thinking…. Maybe she also remembered their good old times…. Times when he would irritate her with each and every thing…. Times when he did not say a word but she understood everything…. Times when they were nothing but two people madly in love with each other…. And then one day, she had walked up to him and said that she didn’t love him anymore…. Did she really fell out of love…. Or is that she never fell in love…. A lone tear escaped the confinement of his eye and rolled down his cheek…. He quickly wiped it off before anyone could notice it….

Unknown to him the other three had noticed the tear and him wiping it away…. Mishti understood the reason for his tear and her smile vanished in a moment…. Priyanka was surprised but didn’t say anything and looked at Ranveer…. Ranveer gave her an understanding nod and she knew that it was something very close to Abir’s heart and that she shouldn’t interfere…. She just nodded at Ranveer and he smiled seeing her understanding his small gestures….

Priyanka: I think the man whom Tia used to meet secretly must be Dushyant Bhaiya only.

Mishti: Yeah, that can be true. Who else would she meet and not want anyone to know other than him?

Abir: So, one thing is clear that the person involved in Tia’s life is Dushyant Rana.

Priyanka: Also, from whatever Om Bhaiya has told me, it is very clear that the number to which Tia talked from the Ranas definitely was used by Dushyant Bhaiya.

Ranveer: If that is the case, there are two possibilities, either Siddharth lied to us or….

Abir: Or he is also unaware of the truth.

Ranveer: Maybe the employee is Dushyant’s cover to keep his relation with Tia a secret.

Mishti: But it can also be that Siddharth knew the truth and didn’t want to land his family in any mess and planted the employee.

Priyanka: Whatever it is only one person can tell us the truth at this moment.

Abir: Yes, we have to talk to that man and extract the truth from him.

Ranveer: You are right. He needs to do a lot of talking.

Priyanka and Mishti were sitting in Ranveer’s cabin waiting for the two to come back after the questioning of the man who was s former employee of Ranas and the man who had confessed that he supplied inside information to Tia…. Priyanka was not allowed to be present at the questioning as she was a civilian and so Mishti decided to accompany her and not let her feel alone…. The girls were eagerly waiting for the boys…. Their mind racing with all the possible outcomes…. Who was lying…. Siddharth…. Dushyant…. Or the employee himself…. They could not come to a conclusion until they got to know what the man must be telling Ranveer and Abir….

Mishti: God knows what must be happening inside?

Priyanka: My patience level is dropping at a faster pace, I hope they come out soon and tell us everything soon.

Mishti: Ranveer Sir is very strict when it comes to questioning, I am sure the man must be having a tough time.

Priyanka: Completely sure about that.

The girls looked at each other and chuckled…. Priyanka looked at Mishti carefully…. Even though she was laughing and smiling, something in her eyes said otherwise…. There was no twinkle in her eyes when she smiled as if the smile was not from her heart…. Priyanka could not help but notice that there was a different vibe whenever Mishti and Abir were in the same room…. As if they had a lot to talk to each other but just couldn’t do that…. Their eyes had certain longing and sadness…. Priyanka had even asked Ranveer once but all he said was it was their private space and he didn’t wish to invade it….

Priyanka: Mishti, if you don’t mind, can I ask you something personal?

Mishti: You may Priyanka, but I won’t promise that I would be able to answer it or not.

Priyanka: I understand, you answer only if you feel like. What is your equation with Abir?

Mishti looked at Priyanka in surprise not expecting her to ask this question…. Was it so obvious to the world that Abir and she had something between them…. Were the people around them able to read the emotions they had suppressed deep inside them….

Priyanka: It’s okay Mishti, I understand if you cannot answer, I just asked because I felt something amiss between you both.

Mishti: No Priyanka, it is not about if I can answer or not, it’s that I don’t know what to tell you. I can only tell you that we loved each other a lot but soon things didn’t work out and I called off everything that existed between us. I broke his trust, his heart and all his dreams about us.

Priyanka: I am sorry Mishti, I didn’t mean to hurt you.

Mishti: It’s okay Priyanka, I know you didn’t have any intentions to hurt me. I wish I would have never hurt him.

Priyanka: But you do love him even today then, why don’t you both give each other a second chance?

Mishti: Something can only be fixed if done at the right time, it is too late for us to mend anything. He has moved on and so have I.

Priyanka: I wish I could believe it. Anyways it is your decision but I’ll only say one thing, it is never too late to mend broken hearts, all you need is some patience, affection and care.

Priyanka smiled at Mishti…. Mishti too smiled back…. Maybe Priyanka was right…. Maybe she still had a chance to mend what she had broken…. Their conversation was disturbed as Ranveer and Abir came back…. The boys looked at each other and then at the girls….

Mishti: So, what did he say? Who is lying, did you find any clue?

Abir: Relax Mishti, take a breath, we’ll tell you everything.

Priyanka: We are fine, you tell us what did that man tell?

Abir and Ranveer looked at each other…. And then Ranveer began telling them what the man told them…. The man had received a call from someone…. He was told to act as an employee of the Ranas and had to give a false statement regarding his contact with Tia…. He was paid a huge amount of money and had agreed readily….

Mishti: And who asked him to do all this?

Ranveer: He doesn’t know the name of the person but we checked his call records and procured the number of the person.

Abir: We’ll get the details of the caller soon but my intuition say that it is Siddharth.

Priyanka: Maybe you are right, seeing our equation with the Ranas, it can be true.

The door opened and a constable walked in with the details…. Abir took the papers and read them…. He was confused and looked at the others….

Ranveer: What is it Abir?

Abir: The number is registered under some Karan Verma.

Mishti: Who is Karan Verma now?

Ranveer: Do we have his address in the details?

Abir: Yes, he lives near Bandra.

Priyanka: Then let us pay a visit to our mystery man.

Ranveer: There are many players around us playing their own games, it’s our turn now. So, let the game begin.

Prerna:Om,you do something.Jugnu is not eating anything.

Omkara felt sad.
Jugnu cried:Please papa..please allow me to meet my mumma.
Omkara could not bear her tears and hugged her.

Om:If I allow you to meet your mumma,will you eat food?
Jugnu nodded.
Om:Then I will take you there.
Jugnu was excited:Really?
Om:Yes.But first you eat food.Otherwise Gauri will scold me for letting you starve.
They both giggled.
Omkara brought food and fed her with his hands.

Gauri was thinking of Om and Jugnu.She was very upset.

Suddenly the bell rang and Gauri opened the door.She could not believe her eyes.Omkara and Jugnu were standing before her.Immediately Jugnu hugged her.
Jugnu:Mumma!
Gauri smiled and kissed her.
Gauri looked at Om.
Om:I am sorry.Jugnu was adamant about meeting you.That’s why I brought her here.
Gauri:I am very happy that you brought Jugnu here.I was really missing her.
Om was surprised about Gauri’s reaction.
Gauri and Jugnu played games.Gauri narrated her some stories.Jugnu listened to the stories curiously.

Om was watching them.
Om:How fast they became close!
Jugnu fell asleep on Gauri’s shoulder.Gauri made her lie on the bed.
Om:I will take Jugnu home now.
Gauri:Ok.Om…I have a request.I know that you don’t want me to get closer to Jugnu.Maybe your wife also will not like it.But if Jugnu insists please bring her here.I feel very lonely.Spending time with Jugnu makes me happy.

His mother Kumkum:Aji…about whom are you speaking?
Ajitabh:That thief girl….she stole my watch.
Sumit smiled:You are a police officer and a silly thief stole your belonging.Funny.
Ajitabh:Come on dad.Don’t tease me.
Kumkum:But Aji..there are so many thieves coming and going in your life.But you are always talking about a thief girl.Why?
His brother Druv:Did the cop fall in love with the thief?

Kumkum:Since you are a police all are thieves in your eyes.This girl is not a thief.If she was a thief she would not have saved my mangalsuthra from that thief.
That girl brought tea for everyone.
Sumit:Ajitabh..this is that girl.
Ajitabh looked at her only to get shocked.
Kumkum:Her name is Vishaka.

Kumkum:This is my son Ajitabh.He is a Police officer.
Vishaka was sweating.

After some time…

Ajitabh entered Vishaka’s room and pinned her against the wall.
Aji:How dare you?You are a thief.But you pretended to save my mother from a thief to get inside this house and steal peacefully?Or you already knew that this is my house and to take revenge on me for arresting you,you played a drama infront of my mother and entered my house?
Vish:I did not do any drama.I saved your mother as it was her mangalsuthra which that thief tried to snatch from her.I did it sincerely.I did’nt know that it was your house until I saw you here.Please believe me.
Aji:Don’t do any drama before me.You begged my mom to give you a job?Seriously?Your intention is wrong for sure.
Vish:No.I really want to change.That’s why I begged your mom for a job.Please don’t tell anyone that I am a thief.I will lose my job and again I will have to become a thief for livelihood.
Aji:Ok.I will not tell anyone that you are a thief.But don’t think that I am believing you blindly.I will give you a chance.But both my eyes will be on you.If you try to fool me I will kick you out and permanently put you in the jail.Understand?
Vish shivered:Yes.

Aji:You stole my watch.Right?
Vish stammered:I…
Aji:Admit the truth.
Slowly she nodded:Yes.

Aji:Return the watch you stole from me.
Vish:I sold it as I needed money.
Ajitabh was shocked:What?You sold my watch?I lost my watch forever.You are the worst thief I have seen in my life.You broke my heart my selling my favourite watch.One day something of you will get stolen and you will understand my pain.Wait and watch.
Ajitabh left the room.Slowly Vishaka smiled.
Vish:He is cute.The cutest cop I have ever seen.

Aman was praying in the church.He was surprised to see Roshni lighting candles there.
Aman went near her.
Aman:I am surprised to see you here.
Roshni got irritated seeing him.
Roshni:You came here also?
Aman:Why can’t I come here?This is a church where anyone can come.Why are you here?
Roshni:I always visit the church since my childhood as I studied in a convent school.By the way go away from me.This is the only place I get peace of mind.Don’t irritate me and spoil my peace of mind.
Aman:Why are you always irritated?You have a lovely family.As far as I know you teach in the same convent school where you studied.Then why you have no peace of mind?
Roshni:Because one issue of mine erases all the lovely moments of life.

Sanjana:Guess he is going to give the flowers to his beloved.Today is a holiday.So he is not going to office.Guess he is going to give the flowers to his beloved.Let me see who that girl is.
Sanjana rode the cycle to follow Sameer without his knowledge.
Sameer stopped the bike before a house.A little girl was standing near the gate.
“Hi uncle!”

Sameer:Hi Pihu…
Sameer gave the flowers to Pihu.
Sameer:Take these flowers.
Pihu smiled and kissed his cheek.
Sameer kissed her back.
Sameer:Bye.
Pihu:Bye bye.
Ruhi got inside the house.
Sanjana was surprised to see it.
Sanjana:It means Sameer was buying flowers to give them to this small kid.I thought he loves someone.
Sanjana went near Sameer.Sameer was surprised to see her.
Sameer:Sanjana!How come you are here?
Sanjana:I was on my way to my flower shop and saw you here.So I came near you.
Sameer smiled.
Sanjana:Did you give flowers to the girl you love?
Sameer:Yes.
Sanjana:I saw it.You were buying flowers to give them to that sweet kid?
Sameer smiled:So you found it out.Yes,after buying flowers,I was giving them to her.I met her while jogging like I met you.
Sanjana smiled:So you don’t love anyone?
Sameer:Let it be a suspense.
Sameer:I will tell you soon.
She smiled.

Pihu went to a room and gave those flowers to a girl.That girl took the flowers from her with a smile.

Sanjana reached her flower shop.
While keeping the flowers there, she got reminded of Sameer and smiled.
Sanjana:Why I am taking interest in Sameer’s life?

Raghbir got ready to go to office.
Pragati came:You did’nt put your buttons properly.You are a kid now also.So careless.
Raghbir:When you are there with me I can be careless.Right?
Pragati:Naughty little boy.Don’t depend on me too much.What if I am not there with you?
Raghbir got upset and closed her mouth with his palm.
Raghbir:Don’t talk like that Pragati.Without you how can I live?
Pragati circled her arms around his neck.
Pragati:Raghbir…chill.I was just joking.
Raghbir:Don’t even joke like that.I can’t bear it.

Pragati:Ok baba.I will not crack such stupid jokes anymore.

He embraced her emotionally.Pragati was lost in his embrace.

They broke the embrace.

Daksh dragged Bela towards a chair

and was tied her to it.

Bela was shocked.
Bela:You killed my dad?You scoundrel!
Bela slapped him.He slapped her back angrily.
Bela’s phone rang.It was Pragati.
Bela:Pragati..save me.Daksh is going to kill me.
Pragati was shocked.She was scared.
Pragati:Bela…no..you will be alright.I will come now.

Daksh snatched the phone from Bela sealing Bela’s lips with a sticker and talked to Pragati.
Daksh:You won’t be able to save her today Pragati.

He laughed.

Pragati could’nt control herself.
Pragati rushed to Bela’s house.
Daksh smirked seeing Pragati.
Daksh:Wow Pragati..welcome.Guess you want to die along with your friend.
Bela cried:Nooo…leave Pragati please.
Pragati:Don’t be scared Bela.He cannot do anything.
Pragati took from behind and hit Daksh.She kept hitting him and Daksh fell down bleeding.
Pragati untied Bela and they both ran out.They both got inside the car.
Daksh somehow managed to take his phone and dialed someone.
Daksh:Kill Pragati and Bela.
Daksh smirked:You cannot outsmart me Pragati.You both will be killed by my goon.

Pragati smiled while driving:Finally we escaped.
Bela:But I am scared Pragati.Daksh is a wounded tiger.He can do anything.

Pragati:After reaching home we will inform the police and end Daksh’s chapter.

Bela smiled with relief.
Suddenly a truck came on the way and hit their car.

CHAPTER 32: Heart to heart

(Day after Shivaay reveals the Oberoi-Kapoor past to Anika and Prachi)

Anika was sitting on her bed in her room…. The book she had thought she would read to refresh her mind was lying in front of her…. Her mind was so preoccupied by her thoughts that the book could not be of much help…. She rested her head on the head board of the bed and closed her eyes…. She had made an excuse to Prachi that she won’t be able to come today as she was not feeling well…. Prachi could understand that something was amiss but didn’t pester Anika much into telling anything…. She knew that when Anika would be ready she would open up herself…. Prachi had agreed that she would tell the same to Shivaay and will also work upon the case with Ranbir…. Anika was sure that Prachi would look after the work in her absence and was not concerned about that….

What bothered her were her own principles…. Since the time Shivaay had revealed the past of the Oberois and Kapoors, her mind and heart was not letting her stay calm…. Her entire life she had seen her father work hard to fight for justice…. He had always taught her to fight for the right and never compromise because of circumstances…. Her Arjun Bhai too had instilled the same principles in her…. From the time she had joined law college her aim in life was clear…. She would fight for all those who could not have the privilege to hire lawyers to fight for their cause…. She had decided it long ago that she would never fight a case for any rich and powerful person…. She had seen many of them use their money, power and status to turn the tables in their favour…. She wanted to be successful only by her hard work and had fought hard to reach the place she was….

And then one day, her Bhai requested her to fight a case for the Oberois…. One of the most reputed families of not only the city but also the country…. Moreover fight for a man who couldn’t think beyond his beliefs of name, blood and lineage…. Shivaay Singh Oberoi…. A man who lived his life only on his terms and conditions…. Why did she have to land in this mess…. She knew that Shivaay just like the others would go to any lengths to protect his family name and fame…. His family was already involved in many wrong doings in the past, what if they were doing the same even today…. So, was she going to fight for the wrong people…. Maybe not all the members in the family were wrong but it didn’t make much of a difference…. At the end of the day, they were one family and would hide each other’s wrong deeds…. How could she then fight for them…. What if they were also involved in the murder…. What if it was someone from the inside…. It could be, after all Tia was not only stabbed with a knife but also been poisoned over a period of time…. And during that time, Tia was residing in Oberoi Mansion…. How could she be poisoned in the security of Oberois without any help from inside….

Shivaay…. Her thoughts shifted to all the time she had spent with him…. His eyes that changed colours…. His smirk whenever he achieved what he wished for…. His smile at his success…. His coldness while treating people who were not his equal…. His dressing sense…. His neat and tidy hair…. Wherever he was, he carried an aura of power and might with him…. His one look and no one would dare to cross paths with him…. His anger was also a reason no one dared to raise a voice against him….

Her thoughts were disturbed by a knock on the door…. A staff member had come to inform her about a visitor waiting in the living room…. She wondered who it could be…. Her parents and brother were not at home so it was upon her to attend the guest….

Shivaay was sitting in the living room of the Raichand Mansion waiting for Anika…. He still could not understand why he had cancelled all his meetings for the day and come here to see her…. He was thinking of an excuse he would give to her when he saw her descending down the stairs…. She was wearing a simple light pink kurti and white salwar…. Her hair was tied in a messy bun…. She was looking beautiful even with her simplicity…. He was looking at her and was so lost in her that he didn’t realize that he had stood up from his place and that now she was standing in front of him surprised seeing him there…. Seeing him lost, Anika snapped her fingers in front of his face and broke his chain of thoughts…. He looked at her and realized that she was near him….

Anika: Shivaay, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be working in your office at this time?

Shivaay: So, this is how you treat your guests? No greetings but only questions.

Anika: No, I didn’t mean that. Please take a seat and I’ll get something for you.

Anika: I am fine just had a head ache, couldn’t concentrate on anything else.

She looked at him and could feel that he was genuinely concerned….

Anika: Shivaay….

Shivaay: Anika, you have already got your chance to speak, now is my turn. I know that whatever my family did years ago, it was all wrong, but I also know that Dad or Bade papa didn’t do it only for my family but also for the families of all those workers who had worked hard day and night for the factory and company…. Anika, when a company faces loses, it not only affects the owners but also each and every person who has worked for it…. If they hadn’t covered for the loses many families would have suffered…. Still, whatever happened was not right, especially with Tia’s family but then it was not in our control…. I know my justifications cannot make the things done in the past valid, and I know whatever happened was wrong but all I want you to know is I am sure that whatever happened in the past has no connection with what happened in the present, the reason for Tia’s death is definitely not the old enmity….

Anika looked at him as he took a pause…. She could now see that he was not angry on her…. She felt a sense of relief knowing that he did not take her words in the wrong way and was trying to understand her opinions also…. If he could do it, even she should listen to him with patience….

Shivaay again continued talking explaining her that his family was wrong years ago but they weren’t wrong today and that he knew that neither his Dad nor his Bade papa were related to Tia’s murder…. He knew that the situation may look against his family but they were definitely not at fault…. He also told that he agreed with her doubt that Tia couldn’t be poisoned regularly without any inside help and that he would definitely help her in finding the person behind all of this…. Anika could feel that he meant each and every word he was saying to her….

Shivaay: Anika, I have nothing but my words to assure you that we’ll get through this together and find the culprit soon.

Anika: Shivaay, this assurance is all I need. I am feeling much better after talking to you. Thank you for listening to me….

Shivaay: No need of thank you, I just did what I felt was right thing to do.

Anika: Now that you have solved my problem, I owe you a coffee. You wait here, I’ll come in few minutes.

Shivaay: As you say.

Anika smiled and walked towards the kitchen…. Shivaay looked around the living room while he waited for her…. He walked towards a wall filled with photo frames…. There were various photos of Anika, Arjun and their parents…. From her childhood to the present times…. He smiled seeing her beautiful smile in all the photos…. Anika came from the kitchen and saw him looking at the photos…. She stood beside him and he looked at her…. She gave him his coffee and they looked at the photos….

Shivaay: Looks like you are very close to Arjun.

Anika: Bhai is my lifeline, I cannot imagine a day without him, he has always been with me in all my ups and downs, be it studies, or anything else.

Shivaay could see her love, care and respect for her brother in her eyes…. Looking at Anika and Arjun’s bond he was reminded of his brothers and sister…. She looked at him with a smile…. He smiled back…. There was complete silence as they sipped their coffee…. They didn’t want words to disturb their eye conversation…. His eyes were busy talking to her eyes…. A deep conversation that did not need any words…. His Dadi always told him that eyes speak what your heart feels…. Today he was actually experiencing it…. They both didn’t say anything and enjoyed the moment….

While walking,by mistake Vishaka hit the flower vase near by and it fell down.

She took the flower vase and the flowers to arrange it properly.

Suddenly Ajitabh who passed by saw it.

Ajitabh:Are you planning to steal this flower vase and leave?What will you gain after taking away this flower vase?Are you planning to keep flowers there?

He could not speak anything.Suddenly he became unconscious.

She screamed:Sameer…Sanjana…

Sameer –Sanjana got shocked.They ran inside.

They were shocked to see Aman’s condition.

Sameer lifted him up and walked out.

Aman was taken to the hospital.

After some time the doctor came out.

Dr:By God’s grace as of now he is alright.

Sameer,Sanjana and Roshni were relieved.

Shagun is Naitik’s sister. Naitik and Raman are good friends from childhood. Both their families decide and get Shagun and Raman married

Adi is five years old when one day he accidentally sets the house on fire. Only Shagun and Adi are at home and fire is spreading everywhere especially the kitchen gas is about to burst. That’s when Shagun sees the glass door near the balcony. She wraps Adi in a blanket and pushes him out. Before Shagun could come out the fire engulfs the house and thus Shagun passes away.

Adi who fell with such a force has few fractures and is semi conscious.Raman and others who came running on hearing the fire alarm find an unconscious Adi outside. Raman tries hard to go in to see Shagun but others don’t let him.Raman and others are devasted to know that Adi was indeed playing with candles and matchstick when Shagun was busy cooking and thus he set the house on fire on Mistake. This is heard as murmurs from a semi conscious Adi.
Adi soon loses consciousness and enters a coma stage due to a head injury while he fell. It’s Ishitha who came to treat Adi.
Ishitha is mourning with the pictures of her husband Subbu and her daughter Pihu who died in an accident recently.

Ishitha soon develops a strong emotional bond with Adi. Raman and Ishitha marry as both families want them together for Adi’s sake and they both too liked each other and understood each other’s pain.
Finally Adi does wake up from coma after a year. But to everyone’s shock and relief Adi has lost his memories completely. He has completely forgotten Shagun and the incident

Doctor Mani:Raman..listen to me…the main reason for his coma stage in addition to the accident is the guilt of setting the house on fire. If he gets to know that it has cost his mother’s life anything may happen to him.. Ishitha is now in your life so let her be the mother of Adi. Please don’t ever tell the past to him. CHAPTER 33: Stay away

(Day after Shivaay revealed the past to Anika-Prachi…. Day after Riddhima’s entry)

Ranbir and Prachi were thinking about how to move further with the case…. Nothing had been discovered that could be used to solve the case…. Tia’s call records had also been of no use as the person whom she talked to frequently was a mere employee of the Ranas….

Ranbir: We haven’t got a single lead on this case till now. The police also didn’t get any vital clue, at this pace God knows when we’ll solve the case.

Prachi: You are right Ranbir, but we cannot lose hope so soon.

Ranbir: I know we need patience but…. Oh wait, how did we forget about that?

Prachi: What did we forget, what are you talking about?

Ranbir: Tia’s postmortem reports.

Prachi: And what about that?

Ranbir: The reports not only stated about the knife being stabbed in her body but also about the poisoning.

Prachi: Oh yes, and we never thought from that angle.

Ranbir: The reports clearly state that Tia’s body was weak and with the blood loss, she died sooner.

Prachi: So, maybe the person who stabbed her knew that she was weak and wouldn’t be able to cope up with the blood loss.

Ranbir: Well whoever did it, had eyes on Tia all the time, making sure that the poison reached her.

Prachi: In that case, it is not possible without any help from inside Oberoi Mansion.

Ranbir: Maybe some staff or security person could be bribed to keep an eye on Tia and make her eat the poisoned food.

Prachi: Well then we have to check the records of all the staff members of Oberoi Mansion, especially those who have joined or have left the job recently.

Ranbir: I’ll ask someone to get us the records and then we can question the ones those who are doubtful.

Prachi: Yeah, that’ll be better.

Gauri: So, now other than us even Om, Priyanka and Ishana know the truth about Tia and Dushyant’s relation.

Rudra just nodded his head…. He had come before the decided time to make Gauri and Soumya aware of the latest development…. He told them about his conversation with his brother and sister the previous day and that they wouldn’t let any other people know about it….

Rudra: I had no other option then to let them know.

Soumya: That’s not a problem, anyways one day or the other they were bound to know.

Gauri: You are right Soumya. I am not worried about that, I am worried that we haven’t found anything new on the case. We have done Tia’s background check thoroughly now and there is nothing suspicious about her. What are we supposed to do ahead?

Gauri was quiet worried…. She had already lost two important clients and events she was looking forward to…. Her company’s name had been associated with a high profile murder case and people had come with their own conclusions…. She was concerned about all the employees working for her…. They had all worked hard day and night to make the company reach heights, she couldn’t let it crumple down…. She had to live up to their expectations and make their hard work pay….

Soumya: Di, don’t worry we’ll definitely find something; we just have to look more carefully.

Rudra: But what Soumya, we already did what was possible for us and it only revealed about Dushyant and nothing else.

Soumya: Yes, but that is how we start, we cannot expect everything to get solved at once, this case is complicated and we need lot of patience while moving ahead.

Gauri: So, what are we supposed to do now, I am unable to think anything.

Soumya: Di, you were the first one to find Tia’s body, right?

Gauri: Yes, and I am never going to forget that scene, she was lying lifeless with blood around her.

Soumya: And only the knife was lying near her, right?

Rudra: Yes, the only clue was the knife but the police inspected it but did not find any finger prints or anything else.

Gauri: Maybe the killer wiped off the finger prints or wore gloves or something.

Soumya: Yeah, of course the killer wouldn’t want to leave even a small clue behind.

Rudra: Also, the person must haven’t entered from the front gate or door, he must have used the gate at the backside to hide from people. He must have come, done his work and left without getting noticed.

Gauri: Moreover Tia’s room was on the ground floor so it must not have been hard to enter, the windows were an easy access.

Soumya: In that case, we should check the hotel premises, maybe we get some clue or if we can get access to the CCTV footage of the back gate, we can find something more relevant.

Rudra: Yes, as far as I know the police did check the CCTV but only of the insides, they didn’t check the outside, we can give this a try.

Gauri: So, let us go then. Also, we need to do this without anyone knowing about it.

Gauri, Rudra and Soumya were standing outside the hotel room where Tia was murdered…. This was the room where Gauri had found Tia lying lifeless…. The room where Ranveer and his team had questioned the entire family…. The room where Ishana had threatened Shivaay…. The room where Abir had found Gauri’s jhumka near Tia’s body…. Gauri shuddered remembering that night when she had found Tia…. That was the worst night of her life…. Those images were never going to go from her mind…. Soumya kept her hand on Gauri’s shoulder and assured her not to worry…. Gauri smiled at Soumya seeing her concern, she felt relieved to have them by her side…. They had slipped into the backyard carefully not getting caught by any hotel staff or visitor…. Many people recognized Rudra and they didn’t want to seek unnecessary attention….

Rudra: Guys, we should check the surroundings as soon as possible, before someone sees us here and doubts are raised.

Soumya: You are right Rudra, we shouldn’t spend much time here and get the work done soon.

Gauri: Yeah, search around the area and see if you can find anything.

The trio nodded at each other and started looking around the area…. Gauri was looking near the window that could have been used by the person to enter Tia’s room…. She checked the window and found the lock broken from the outside…. Was it already broken…. Or was it done by the killer…. Maybe he had done it to enter the room without any difficulty…. She looked around more to see of anything else could be found or not….

Rudra and Soumya were looking around the lawn near the room…. They were looking down and did not see each other coming from the opposite sides…. They bumped into each other and fell down on the ground…. They looked at each other irritated….

Soumya: Idiot, don’t you have eyes or you don’t use them while moving around?

Rudra: How dare you call me idiot, and for the record, even I can say the same about you, don’t you have eyes?

Soumya: It is useless talking to you.

Rudra: Same here

Gauri heard their argument and came there…. She helped them to get up…. They stood up dusting their clothes….

Gauri: Are you fine, I mean did you get hurt?

Soumya: No Di, we are fine just some scratches nothing serious.

Gauri: Rudra….

She stopped as she saw something shining…. She bent down near the window and picked up the metal object…. It was a cufflink…. Soumya and Rudra saw her looking at something and stood beside her to see…. It was a cufflink with the letter “S” engraved on it…. They looked at each other….

Soumya: What if this belongs to the killer?

Gauri: Does this mean the killer’s name starts with S?

They both looked at each other and then looked at Rudra….

Rudra: We have to find out more to know if this belongs to the killer.

Gauri: Yes, we cannot come to conclusions just with a cufflink.

Soumya: Yeah, we need to find other clues also.

Silence….

A long silence….

A silence that had never existed between them….

There was an unusual calmness in their hearts…. Like they say the calm before the storm….

The new building emotions had created havoc in their souls….

The new feelings had created waves of disturbances in their peaceful lives….

“So, where do we start?”

Ishana said breaking the never ending silence…. She knew if they were to maintain this silence for any longer than intended she wouldn’t be able to keep her feelings in control…. She had made her mind clear that she would get the work related to the case done as soon as possible and never meet Om again…. She had told herself plenty of times that whatever she and Om have is only professional and she wasn’t supposed to attach any feelings to this…. Maybe over the days they had become good friends but then it was just for the time being…. They were not going to be with each other forever…. She did not have any rights to even think about a forever…. Some people are temporary even if the feelings related to them maybe forever…. She was brought out of her thoughts by Om’s voice….

Omkara: Ishana, there is something important I need to talk to you about.

Om said with some hesitation…. Ishana could see that something was bothering him…. She looked at him waiting for him to continue further…. Maybe he had found something about the case…. Something that was disturbing him…. Seeing him not saying anything ahead she spoke….

Ishana: What has happened Om? I feel that something is bothering you.

Omkara: Ishana, I think we should stop working together.

As soon as the words reached her ears she looked at him with shock…. Did he say it or did she hear something wrong…. She closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them again to look at Om…. Seeing him she understood that whatever she had heard was right…. Om was actually telling her that they could not work together any more…. What had happened to him in one night that he came to this conclusion…. The previous day he was behaving with her quiet normally then what changed all of a sudden….

Ishana: What has happened Om, why are saying this all of a sudden?

Omkara: Ishana, this case is very complicated especially when my family is involved, earlier I didn’t realize how crucial this could get but now that I have understood, I cannot put my family in any risk. I cannot put them in any danger….

Ishana: Really Om, weren’t you the one who said that you’ll fight for the truth no matter what happens?

Ishana looked at him in disbelief….

Omkara: Yes Ishana, I am saying all this. I know I had said all those things earlier but now when I thought about it, I have understood that I cannot go against my family, my loved ones for the truth.

Ishana: Wow….

Omkara: I am sorry Ishana, but if it is so dangerous and about my family, I have to think as Omkara Singh Oberoi and not Om.

Ishana could not believe that she was hearing all this from Om…. She had never expected him to say all this….

Wasn’t he who had told her that he would always be Om before being an Oberoi…. Hadn’t he told her that his principles and his belief in the truth were his ways of living his life…. Hadn’t he said a number of times that no matter what happened he would always stand by the truth…. Wasn’t he who had made her believe that nothing was more important than the truth…. Wasn’t he who had asked her to give him a chance to help her…. Hadn’t he told her that together they would fight through all this….
But then why did she believe him and his words so easily…. Wasn’t he also an Oberoi at the end of the day…. Wouldn’t his priority always be his family…. Why was she such a fool to fall for all his kind words and humble nature…. How could she let him walk through all this when he was going to leave her the moment things turned against his family…. Why did her heart believe all those big talks about idealism…. How could she get influenced by his so easily…. Why did she even give him a chance to do all this to her….

A lone tear rolled down from her eye and on to her cheek…. Another tear followed the first one…. Om saw her tears and felt something breaking inside his heart…. He moved ahead to wipe her tears when she moved back and looked at him…. He could see disappointment, hurt and anger in those eyes…. His words had wounded her badly…. He had broken her trust and her beliefs….

Ishana: No Mr. Oberoi, don’t you dare come near me. I was such a fool that I believed all your kind words and actions. I thought you were different but no, I was wrong. I was right when I assumed that you too would turn out to be like the other Oberois.

Mr. Oberoi…. The words made him feel ashamed of himself…. He used it to address the man he hated the most…. He had never thought that one day someone would use it for him and it would make him feel disgusted….

Ishana was right…. At the end he had had only turned himself into the person he never wished to become…. But he had too…. He had to do this because if he didn’t do it…. He would only end up hurting Ishana more…. With the rising feelings inside him he could not let Ishana be near him…. She was affecting him in ways he had never thought it was possible…. But he had to end it today or he wouldn’t be able to end it ever…. If once Ishana became closer to him he wouldn’t be able to ever let go of her….

Ishana: When you had come to my house to offer your help, I was not sure about any of this but then with time I became sure that I made the right decision but today you proved that it was my biggest mistake. I should have never trusted you.

Ishana picked up her things and looked at Om for a final time…. She turned the other side and wiped her tears…. She didn’t have to shed tears for a person like him she scolded herself…. He didn’t deserve her tears…. He was not worth it…. She was walking when she stumbled and was about to fall when Om came to her to save her…. She balanced herself and put her hand to prevent him from coming near….

Ishana: Thokaro se khud ko sambhalna aata hai mujhe. Mujhe sahare ke liye aapki koi jaroorat nahi hai. You have already some too close, now stay away.

Ishana steadied herself and walked out of the room….

Once Ishana was out of sight Om sat down on the ground…. He hit the floor angrily…. He punched it a number of times till his hand started bleeding because of the continuous hitting…. He deserved this…. He deserved much more…. He should not have let Ishana come closer to him…. He should have never got her too attached to him…. He should have controlled his feelings and kept their relation professional…. He shouldn’t have even become friends with her…. Everything was his fault and he punished her…. She believed him and he only ended up breaking her trust…. He could not keep his emotions in control and ended up hurting her…. It was his entire fault…. Why did these feelings ever rise inside him…. Why did he grow close to her….

Omkara: I am sorry Ishana, but it is better you stay away from me.

He sat there as tears flowed from his eyes…. He was guilty for hurting an innocent soul….

The sun was shining brightly…. The soft breeze was flowing…. The entire atmosphere was filled with the fragrance of flowers…. The birds were chirping…. The bees were humming…. The nature had its own rhythm…. There was a peaceful feeling all around…. And suddenly dark clouds surrounded the sky…. The sun was hidden in the clouds…. The soft breeze turned into destructive winds…. Birds and bees stopped their melodious sounds…. She turned around afraid by the drastically changing nature…. She looked around but no one was there…. She was alone…. Alone…. All alone…. It started raining…. She was drenched in the rain…. She tried to find a shelter but nothing was there…. She was alone….

This is what Ishana was feeling at the moment….

Alone….

She reached her house with great difficulty…. Only she knew how she had managed to drive keeping her focus on the road when so many things were going on in her mind…. Her heart was paining…. It was hurting her a lot…. But she couldn’t fall weak…. She couldn’t…. It was all her fault….

Her mistake to trust him….

Her mistake to let feelings rise for him….

Her mistake to let him come closer….

Her mistake to let her heart free….

She sat down on the floor…. She could not take it any longer and tears flowed from her eyes…. Why did he do this…. Why….

Naira picks the call and puts it on speaker

Naira: So it was you who scared her

Voice: Only if Shivaay Singh Oberoi’s mother in law had left me..I need not have contacted you or entered the garage to meet my sweetheart

Naira: She is married

Voice : (a small laugh) that doesn’t change her relationship with me..see I have been giving all lose talks..i called to inform you that I’ll send a message through a letter regarding where to give the plan.  Bye

The call disconnects

Kartik: Naira something isn’t right ..I think Anika’s mom is hiding something

Ashok: By the way I’m at the badminton court now..watching Adi..will I get the plan or….

Naira: See Paresh we only have plan but Shivaay sir has recruited the security agency too..you won’t find anything from this plan

Just then The door is knocked. It’s Sheela

Sheela: Hello Raman Ji…

Ashok:Sheela why are you there
Sheela: I can’t hide it anymore….nor from my daughter or from these people

Anika and Shivaay too enter

Raman: What is it

Sheela: It’s my husband……

Flashback runs

Ashok and Raman are neighbours. Sheela is pregnant and she spends lot of time with Shagun and Adi

Ashok being a womaniser has an eye on Shagun. One night Ashok makes an excuse of going to office at night. He sneaks out but secretly comes and hurts Sheela in disguise thus distracting the neighbors who run for her help. Sheela understands it’s him but in pain she doesn’t express

Seeing Raman out Ashok sneaks into his house

Shagun and Adi are in the kitchen. Shagun makes Adi sit on the counter and is cooking dinner

Adi: Muma..I love your food

Shagun kisses him. Just then Ashok sneaks in from the glass door near the kitchen and gets closer to Shagun

Shagun slaps him…

Ashok: Sweet heart please be polite…don’t do this and increase my feelings

When he tries to get near Shagun..she tries to shout but he shuts her mouth.

Adi sees his mother struggling and finds a match box on the kitchen counter. He lights on and keeps it on Ashok’s face..he shouts and move away…thus making the fire stick fall on the table cloth which starts to burn

Shagun hugs Adi. Ashok’s face has a fire mark and he again gets up to catch Adi and Shagun. Adi and Shagun try to run away but in the process the fire starts to spread to the curtains from the table cloth and step by step everything starts to burn. Shagun finds a thick blanket and wraps it around Adi and pushes him out and tries to get out..but Ashok pulls her in. He tries to molest her even in the burning fire. But Shagun locks herself inside the burning kitchen while Ashok is in the living room. He jumps out breaking the windowwith few burn marks at various spots on his body meanwhile Shagun finds no way to escape as the kitchen is engulfed by fire

Shagun: I can’t go out and get molested by that animal..I’m not able escape from here too

She hears the glass breaking sound and tries to go to the living room by opening the kitchen door but she herself is engulfed by fire then

Raman: You scoundrel…

Sheela: I’m sorry Raman Ji…after escaping from fire Ashok came home and I was shocked to see him like that..I rushed him to the hospital..after he said he got injured while trying to save Adi and said he did save Adi and it was Adi who set the fire…but once under treatment he blurted the truth in sedation. I thought of telling the police once he gained consciousness but he threatened to kill me and my unborn child..so I didn’t tell anyone . Soon you left Delhi and I too separated from him for my daughter

Ishitha: blo*dy rascal had did all this..our Adi is innocent Raman he had started the fire but that was to save Shagun..he was a brave kid

Ruhi: Ishimaa…but if bhai knows it

Hearing all this Anika breaks down. Shivaay consoles her

CHAPTER 34: I am there with you

(Day Om tells Ishana that they cannot work together – Day when Priveer and Mishbir find about Karan Verma)

The man looked at his visitors in confusion…. They were all looking at him standing in the narrow passage…. There was curiosity and suspicions in their eyes…. The two man and two ladies exchanged some looks and then looked back at the man…. Ranveer signed Abir to start the conversation…. Abir nodded…. Priyanka and Mishti were looking around the place….

Abir: Is this Mr. Karan Verma’s house? We are here to meet him.

Man: Yes, you are speaking to him. Who are you all?

Abir took out of his ID card from the pocket and put in front of the man…. The man looked at the card carefully and gulped down his fear…. He looked at the other three people and then at the passage way…. Was there a chance he could run out of there…. He was calculating his chances….

Ranveer: So, Mr. Verma, I assume that you are ready for clearing our doubts.

The events occurred in moments…. The man pushed Abir who fell towards the side…. Ranveer’s first instinct was to save Priyanka from getting hurt…. He immediately held her preventing her from getting hurt…. Mishti put her leg in between and the man stumbled…. Before Mishti could get hold of him he steadied himself and ran down the staircase…. Abir and Ranveer looked at each other and signed each other…. Mishti looked at them…. Priyanka was stunned for a moment but composed herself…. Abir and Mishti took the stairs following the man while Ranveer and Priyanka took the other exit….

The man was running towards the main road from the street when Abir and Mishti saw him…. They increased their pace to reach the man before he disappears into the crowd…. Ranveer and Priyanka came from the other side and saw the man running…. They could see Abir and Mishti also following him…. Ranveer looked at Priyanka once and to his surprise she looked calm…. He smiled seeing her maintaining her composure…. Priyanka saw him once and assured him not to worry about her…. They followed the man…. On the way Ranveer informed his men on the main road to be alert…. The man looked back to see Abir and Mishti following him…. He looked ahead and bumped into Ranveer…. He was shocked for a moment and turned to the other side but two men stood in front of him…. Abir and Mishti also reached the place…. The two constables took hold of him….

Mishti: So, you thought you could escape so easily.

Ranveer: What did you think we would come to an unknown place without any prior knowledge that you would fool us?

Karan: Sir, please leave me, I didn’t do anything.

Abir: If you have not done anything, why did you run?

Karan: I was afraid seeing you all, but I didn’t do anything.

Priyanka: Well, it is good that you were afraid, now don’t waste our time and answer all our questions with honesty, dare you even think of lying or fooling us again.

The trio looked at Priyanka amazed by her commanding voice…. If any of the Oberois would have heard this, they would have been shocked listening to their little Prinku talking with such authority…. The man nodded his head and Ranveer smiled seeing Priyanka’s effect on him…. Mishti also smiled while Abir was still surprised…. He whispered to Mishti who was standing beside him….

Abir: Mishti, now I am sure she is the one for Veer.

Mishti: Absolutely right Abir, for a moment I could see Sir’s reflection in her.

Karan: Ma’am, you ask anything, I’ll tell you everything.

Ranveer signed his men to make him sit in the vehicle…. Abir sat in the front seat with the driver while the other three sat in Ranveer’s jeep….

They all reached the police station…. Abir signed the men to take him into the interrogation room…. They were about to enter when Abir’s phone rang and he was surprised seeing Ishana’s name flashing on the screen…. He decided to talk later and declined the call.… He put the phone in his pocket but it started ringing again…. He looked at the screen and was amazed to see Ishana calling again…. Ranveer looked at him and Abir showed him the screen…. Mishti also saw Ishana’s name and remembered the hotel incident…. Priyanka also remembered her as she had spoken to her Shivaay Bhaiya with great authority which very few dared to do…. Ranveer signed Abir to take the call while they waited…. Abir nodded and received the call….

Abir: Ishu, I am busy right now, can we talk later, please.

Abir said without waiting for Ishana to start speaking…. But when he heard her voice, he felt something different…. He could easily understand that she had either cried a lot or she was still crying…. He knew Ishana was a strong girl and if she was crying it means she needed him at the moment…. If she could handle it, she would have never called him like this….

Abir: Ishu, don’t worry, I am coming, I am coming there. You don’t worry, I am there naa.

Hearing him the other three looked at him surprised…. He disconnected the call after assuring Ishana that he is coming to her house and took out the keys of his jeep…. He was about to sit when he looked at Ranveer…. Seeing Abir’s face, Ranveer understood that something was wrong….

Priyanka: Abir, what has happened, you look worried?

Abir: I’ll talk to you all later, I have to go now, Ishu needs me.

Mishti was looking at Abir and seeing his concern for Ishana, her heart felt a pain…. A pain as if she had lost him…. A pain that she was no longer his first priority…. A pain that maybe she had no second chance with him anymore…. His words “Ishu needs me” were ringing in her ears…. Tears collected in her eyes but she controlled them…. Priyanka noticed this and felt sad for her….

Ranveer: Abir, go to her, we’ll manage here.

Abir quickly nodded and sat in his vehicle and drove away…. Mishti looked on as his jeep disappeared around the corner of the road…. Maybe she was late to mend anything…. He was no longer hers…. He had a different life now and she was no longer the most important part….

Ranveer and Priyanka were sitting in Ranveer’s room when Mishti walked in with the records in her hand…. Her look clearly showed that whatever the man had told them was the truth…. Siddharth had paid him to bring in a fake employee for the Ranas who would confess to owning the number which Tia had contacted to over the months….

Mishti: Karan is saying the truth, when I checked more into the records of the Ranas, there is no mention of the man whom we had arrested last week.

Priyanka: So, whatever Dushyant Bhaiya told Om Bhaiya is the truth, he was using that number.

Ranveer: That means Mr. Rana wants to play games with us. Good, now the real fun will begin.

Mishti: We also gathered Karan’s bank records which clearly show money being transferred to his account by an account from Rana Industries.

Ranveer: Well then it is time to meet Siddharth Rana again.

Abir knocked the door of Ishana’s apartment…. It opened after few minutes and he was taken aback by Ishana’s state…. Her bloodshot eyes clearly showed that she had been crying continuously…. Seeing Abir in front of her Ishana just hugged him tightly…. Abir stumbled a little because of her action but steadied himself and covered her with his arms…. He caressed her hair to calm her down…. Once her sobbing stopped he wiped her tears and took her inside…. He locked the door and made her sit on the couch…. He went inside and got her a glass of water…. Ishana drank the water and kept the glass on the coffee table…. Abir sat in front of her…. He had many questions in her mind…. Seeing her state made him more worried….

Abir: Ishu….

Ishana: Abir, I don’t know why is this happening with me, what wrong did I do that it is happening with me again.

Abir: Ishu, please relax and tell me what has happened?

Ishana: Abir, he is back, and he’ll not leave me this time. I cannot face him again.

The fear in her voice shocked Abir…. The Ishana he had known over the past years was nowhere near to the Ishana who was sitting in front of him…. Ishana had always stood in front of him as someone with immense strength….

Abir: Ishu, who is back, tell me clearly what has happened?

Ishana: Daksh Khurana is back.

Abir: Daksh Khurana, you mean the man who….

Ishana: Yes, the same Daksh Khurana.

Abir was shocked….

Abir: Ishu, don’t worry this time you are not alone, I am there with you. He won’t be able to hurt you again. I’ll never let him come near you also.

Riya attends the call. She is shocked to hear something. The scene freezes.

Its the movie premiere. Kartik and Naira arrive there. Nethra is there

The producer calls Kartik. Nethra and Naira walk inside.

Kartik walks to Naira and holds her by her hand. Naira hesitates

He holds his ears

He hints the waiter to leave.
Naira laughs and : By your hands sir

Kartik: Oh that’s a great honour. Please take seat

Naira and Kartik sit next to each other but facing each other

He takes the noodles using a spoon and fork and feeds her

Kartik: I’m sorry Sherni…for bringing Riddhima all of a sudden. I understand what you felt..because I too missed you

Naira: It’s ok mendak

Kartik: It’s ok..after punishing

He turns away

Naira: That’s for this to be the last time. I know you are a celebrity now but

Kartik: Shsh…don’t worry your place in my life and heart is always only yours. No other girl can take it. Not even if choti Sherni comes..

Naira blushes and Kartik kisses her cheek. The scene freezes

CHAPTER 35: Haunting past

(Day when Ranveer and team met Karan – Day when Om denied working with Ishu)

Priyanka: So, what are we going to do now? Siddharth Bhaiya has lied to us but we don’t know the exact reason.

Mishti: You are right, we don’t know if Mr. Rana hid it to save his family reputation, not letting the world know about Dushyant and Tia or to save something else.

Ranveer: Whatever maybe the reason, he lied to us and we have to find out why.

Priyanka: You both and go and meet him, I’ll wait for you.

Priyanka looked at Ranveer assuring him that she will manage till he comes back…. Ranveer smiled at her…. One smile from him would give her all the strength she needed…. Ranveer being by her side was all that she needed to fight the problems in their life…. Priyanka was sure that together they could get through everything….

Mishti observed this and smiled seeing them together and happy…. She wished if Abir and she could have had the same chance to be together and happy again…. Her wish may or may not come true, only time will tell that…. At the moment she decided to focus on her work…. Love will find its way into her life just like it had earlier, years ago…. It is rightly said about love, it comes to you when you least expect it to…. She knew if they were meant to be, they would come together eventually and if not, no matter what she did, they wouldn’t come together…. Mishti decided to let time decide the fate of her love….

Mishti and Ranveer took leave from Priyanka….

Daksh was sitting in his room with a photo in his hand…. It was a photo of two girls…. He smirked seeing the photo…. The past had come knocking at his door again and this time he would complete his unfinished works…. He took out a lighter from the drawer and ignited the fire to burn the photo…. He laughed loudly seeing the photo turn into ashes….

Daksh: Welcome back beautiful, this time the game will be more fun, I promise you that.

He kneeled down and took the ashes in his hand and blew it, smiling evilly….

Daksh: Last time, it was her. This time it will be you Ishana. Get ready.

His evil laugh echoed in the entire room….

Siddharth: You guys have a great misunderstanding, I don’t know any Karan Verma and I didn’t give him any money. You guys need to check through your sources. All this information you have is false.

Siddharth said it with some irritation in his voice…. He had been explaining Ranveer and Mishti that he had no connection with any Karan Verma nor did he hire him to do any work….

Mishti: Wish we could believe you on this but sadly we cannot. We have checked your records and bank statements thoroughly. The employee you presented was a fake one and also you transferred money to Karan’s account.

Ranveer: Mr. Rana, there is no use lying now. We have come here to know the truth behind this move of yours.

Mishti: Did you do this to save your family reputation from a murder case or your brother from being a suspect?

Siddharth: My brother had nothing to do with any of this.

Ranveer: Well not with the fake employee but maybe with his ex-wife Tia Kapoor.

Siddharth looked at Ranveer in shock…. Ranveer smiled and with one look at Siddharth and he knew that Siddharth knew about Tia and Dushyant….

Siddharth: What rubbish are you talking officer, my brother has nothing to do with Tia.

Mishti: Mr. Rana, there is no use denying facts, we have proofs and witness of the secret marriage.

Siddharth looked at Mishti and understood that they had evidence…. He thought for a moment and took a breath before speaking again….

Siddharth: I agree that the employee was fake but I didn’t ask any Karan Verma to do it for me. In fact why would I get my name involved, I can ask many people to do it for me without getting involved personally?

Mishti and Ranveer looked at each other…. Siddharth had a point…. He could have got the work done easily without getting his name involved…. But then if Siddharth didn’t hire Karan, who did and why did he mention Siddharth’s name….

Ranveer: Well Mr. Rana, we will investigate more into the matter. For the time being, you can live in peace but remember that after this trick of yours, you are also in our suspicion.

Ranveer looked at Siddharth once and walked out of the room…. Mishti followed him…. Siddharth made sure that they had left and took out his phone and dialed a familiar number….

POC: Hello….

Siddharth: Looks like someone wants to mess with me, and I want the mess cleared. I am sending you something, check it and get the work done.

POC: Okay.

Siddharth disconnected the call and looked at the view outside…. Whoever was trying to play with him would definitely lose, he thought and smirked….

Abir brought Ishana her favorite adrak wali chai…. He had learnt over the years that one cup of tea could change Ishana’s mood completely….

Ishana was lost in her thoughts…. Today even her favorite tea couldn’t cheer her up…. The memories of the past were replaying in her mind…. She could never forget those darkest days of her life…. How happy she was and then one day, everything changed…. All her happiness turned into sorrow…. All this because of that one person…. Daksh Khurana…. How he entered their life as a gentle breeze and then turning into a storm created havoc in their peaceful life….

She was jerked out of her thoughts by Abir…. She looked at him as fresh tears collected in those eyes…. Eyes that always portrayed strength, confidence and power, today had only pain, sorrow and helplessness…. Abir quickly wiped her tears that were ready to flow unstoppable…. He nodded his head in negative….

Abir: No Ishu, this is not the time to fall weak, in fact this is the time to stand up and fight back.

Ishana: I don’t know Abir if I can fight him or not.

Abir: Of course you can, you are one of the strongest people I know and I am sure you can fight back and definitely win.

Ishana: But….

Abir: No Ishu, I know you can do it. And if you are forgetting you have some pretty good cops on your team this time.

Ishana looked at Abir who smiled at her…. Ishana too smiled back…. Abir felt relieved seeing her smile…. Never would he want to see a broken and sad Ishana again…. He forwarded the cup of tea and she took it smiling at him…. Having friends who are ready to fight for you is truly a blessing….

Priyanka was sitting lost in her thoughts when Mishti and Ranveer entered…. She looked at them…. Ranveer sat on his chair while Mishti sat beside Priyanka…. Priyanka gave them water…. Mishti then told Priyanka about what happened at the Rana Office…. Priyanka was surprised knowing that Siddharth did hire a fake employee but he never got it through Karan…. Moreover Karan’s records were saying a different story….

Priyanka: This is so complicated.

Mishti: Exactly, Mr. Rana agreed that he lied but then he also said that he doesn’t know Karan. God knows what is happening exactly.

Ranveer’s phone rang at the moment and he picked it up seeing Abir’s name flashing…. He talked to Abir for a few minutes and disconnected the call…. Mishti was hearing the conversation with concentration…. Abir had not returned yet and she was getting worried…. Priyanka could sense her worry and placed a hand on her shoulder…. Mishti looked at her…. Priyanka signed her not to worry…. Mishti nodded…. Ranveer could also understand Mishti’s concern….

Ranveer: Mishti, I have never interfered in anyone’s personal matters, not even Abir’s but still I would want to say this to you today.

Mishti looked at him surprised hearing his words…. There was a concern in his voice….

Ranveer: I know that Abir and you have gone through some tough times and then working together makes things complicated. But I also know that you too can handle it well, so don’t worry. I know Abir and you will come through this phase of life also.

Priyanka: Ranveer is right Mishti, you both just need some time to reflect on the things happening around. I have not known either of you for a long time, but with whatever I have understood, I know that you both are strong enough to make things right, just take your time.

Mishti: You both are right, I guess all we need is some time.

Priyanka: Time makes everything better.

Ranveer: And I am sure whatever lies ahead will be for the best of both of you.

Ranveer and Priyanka smiled at her and she too smiled back…. Whatever they said was true…. All that Abir and she needed was time…. Time will make things clear…. She just had to have some patience and some faith….

When you are falling down into the depth of the darkness…. What hurts the most is not the physical pain that comes with the falling but the emotional pain when you realize that the hands that pushed you are the same hands that taught you to walk…. The same hands that protected you…. The same hands that wiped you tears…. The same hands that held you when you were alone…. It is rightly said the worst pain comes from the betrayal of our own people…. People whom we loved, whom we cared for and whom we trusted…. The same people, when they turn against you and, you can never see through their acts hurts the most….

Prachi: So, Mrs. Kapoor poisoned her own daughter and was pushing her into a slow death.

Prachi broke the never ending silence…. The discovery of the past few hours had turned everything around…. Ranbir and Prachi had checked through the records of all the staff members in Oberoi Mansion…. Upon searching more they had found a particular lady had joined two months back to replace a staff member who was not keeping well…. Also she had left the job a week after Tia’s death…. On enquiring more about her, the other staff members revealed that Mrs. Kapoor had brought that lady and specifically asked her to look after Tia’s food arrangements….

Ranbir and Prachi had informed the same to Shivaay and Anika…. They tried to locate the lady but couldn’t find any trace…. Shivaay and Ranbir decided to talk to Mrs. Kapoor and what they found out shocked them to the core…. How could a mother do any such thing with her own daughter…. Why would a mother plan a slow death for her own daughter…. If Tia were not stabbed that night, maybe today she would have experienced the pain of betrayal….

Ranbir: I still don’t believe that Mrs. Kapoor did all this.

Anika: I know this is hard to understand but then, if she did it, I don’t find any reason for her to do so.

Prachi: Exactly, why did she do it is the mystery here? Tia was getting married to Shivaay Sir, and would become the daughter-in-law of the Oberois, why plan for her death?

Anika: Well if she was killing her own daughter….

Ranbir: That means Tia did something or was doing something against her wish, why else would she take such a harsh step?

Shivaay: Well, there is one person who can clear our doubts.

The three of them looked at Shivaay….
